Joshua and his family recently moved back to the United States after serving for 14 years in South Africa, where they planted Living Hope Church, began the African Bible Training Center, and started the Muphamuzi Baby Home. He now serves as pastor at Cornerstone Bible Church in Fullerton, California, while continuing to mentor teachers at various African Bible Training Centers. He is particularly passionate about providing solid theological resources in under-resourced areas. He is the author of Compasssion: Seeing with Jesus Eyes and the co-author of several other books. He received his M.A. and M.Div from The Master’s University and Seminary, and D.Min from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Marda is from Alaska. She went on a missions trip to Africa and met Josh. After a few years in the USA,
together they moved to Africa where within a few short years their family grew from 3 children to 9! Together
they have ministered at Living Hope Church in Pretoria, South Africa. Marda is very involved in an orphan
outreach ministry called Muphamuzi Baby Homes. The goal of these Baby Homes is to help move children
who have been abandoned into forever-families who will love and care for them

Dr. Eugene Bakhmutsky is the founding pastor of the thriving Russian Bible Church of central Moscow and former Senior Vice President of the Union of Evangelical Christian-Baptist Churches of Russia. Eugene is an internationally renowned speaker and author and one of the key leaders in the Protestant church of Russia. His story is compelling as is the story of the Russian Bible Church. He is happily married and the father of four children.

Nathan began teaching at the Master’s University in 2000 as an adjunct faculty member in the communications department. In 2008, he began teaching historical theology at the Master’s Seminary and is currently the Dean of the Faculty and Assistant Professor of Theology. Nathan is an author of numerous books, including “Long Before Luther” and is currently serving on the pastoral staff at Grace Church in Sun Valley, California. Nathan and his wife, Beth, have four children.

After serving for 30 years as a physician in Togo, West Africa, Bob returned to the US in 2003 to join the International Healthcare Ministries team. Bob recruits healthcare professionals to serve hospitals in Togo, Bangladesh, and The Gambia. In 2015, the Hospital of Hope opened in the city of Mango, Togo, after five years for fundraising, building and recruiting.

Stephen Davey serves as pastor/teacher at The Shepherd’s Church, which he planted and has now led for more than 30 years. He also serves as the principal Bible teacher on Wisdom for the Heart, heard daily on several hundred radio stations, now translated into 7 languages. Stephen and his wife, Marsha have been married for 37 years. Their twin sons and two daughters have given them a growing number, but never enough, grandchildren.

Dr. Les Lofquist served as church planter in Ogden, Utah and a Bible College professor in Grand Rapids, Michigan and a part-time seminary professor at Grace Theological Seminary of Winona Lake, Indiana where he also served as Senior Pastor at Pleasant View Bible Church. For twenty years he directed the fellowship of IFCA International with over 1500 churches, pastors, Christian workers, chaplains, mission agencies, eight Bible Colleges and seminaries in 27 countries. During those years, he also was Editor of VOICE magazine. In June 2019, Les and his wife Miriam moved to Cary, North Carolina where he joined the faculty of Shepherds Theological Seminary and pastoral team at The Shepherd’s Church.

Shepherd’s College ministry exists to bring glory to God by growing in our faith, giving of our service to the people of The Shepherd’s Church, and going to those around us with the good news of Jesus. We are most active on NC State’s campus, but have a presence at Meredith College, Campbell University, and Wake Tech. From campus events to small-group discipleship, our College Ministry activities and gatherings are motivated by the gospel. We are committed to making disciples who have a growing desire to walk with Christ, serve His church, and carry out His mission to the lost and lonely. Paul and his wife, Summer have two sons, Micah (11) and Austin (8). Paul is also a student at Shepherds Theological Seminary.

Pastor of Ministry and Leadership Development, The Shepherd’s Church, Cary NC

Al Potter is currently the Pastor of Ministry and Leadership Development for The Shepherd’s Church. Prior to this position he was Professor at STS of Pastoral Theology and Church Planting. He served as President of Pillsbury College, and Vice President at The Master’s College and Seminary. Al started his ministry life as a youth pastor for four years, before starting and pastoring his own church in Pennsylvania. He started with 11 adults in 1974, but the church grew to 600 by 1987. Not only did he pastor this church, but he also developed a Christian school with 200 students, developed a Bible Institute with 60 students, and started camp ministries that served 400 young people each summer. His church established four other church plants in Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey. Before coming to STS, Dr. Potter was pastoring in New York. Dr. Potter’s wife, Patti is with the Lord. His family includes two children and four grandchildren.

President Emeritus of the Slavic Gospel Association, Fuquay-Varina, NC

Dr. Provost has served since 1994 as the fourth president of SGA. He speaks Russian and has made more than 200 ministry visits to the former communist world to serve evangelical pastors, evangelist-missionary pastors, and their church families. Bob’s passion is two-fold — to serve evangelical churches in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and Israel, and to serve missions-minded churches in America by helping them joyfully partner with zealous churches in the lands of Russia. When faithful Bible-preaching churches labor together, a great harvest of souls is gathered for the glory of Christ. Bob and his wife, Louetta, reside in Fuquay-Varina, NC. He has been on the Lincoln board since 1997.

Provost and Dean at Shepherds Theological Seminary

Dr. Tim Sigler serves as Provost and Dean at Shepherds Theological Seminary (Cary, NC) where he is responsible for all aspects of administration, development, and the overall supervision of the faculty, staff, and academic programs. His is also the Chair of Shepherds’ Department of Biblical Archaeology. Prior to STS, Dr. Sigler served with distinction at the Moody Bible Institute (Chicago, IL) for 18 years, most recently as Professor of Hebrew and Biblical Studies.

He maintains an active international presence writing and lecturing as the Israel Scholar-in-Residence with CJF Ministries and hosting study tours throughout the biblical world with Wisdom Passages. His PhD dissertation at Trinity International University (Deerfield, IL) is titled “Emotional Geography in the Song of Songs: A Literary Study of the Contexts of Love.” Grace College and Seminary (Winona Lake, IN) awarded Dr. Sigler a grant to participate in their MS in Higher Education program (’18). He also holds the BA in Biblical Studies (’91), MA in Theological Studies (’93), and MDiv (’95) degrees from Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary (Ankeny, IA). He has contributed to various periodicals as well as The Moody Bible Commentary, the Dictionary of Daily Life in Biblical and Post-Biblical Antiquity, What Should We Think about Israel? Separating Fact from Fiction in the Middle East Conflict, and the Shepherds Seminary volume titled Forsaking Israel: How It Happened and Why It Matters, edited by Dr. Larry Pettegrew. He and his hospitable wife, Bernice, have three adventurous children.

Mark Walker

Congressman Walker began his career in 1991 working in sales and finance management before being led to serve in vocational ministry working 16 years as an ordained pastor.  In 2014, Walker launched an improbable but successful campaign for Congress. Walker became the first member of Congress to be elected in the first term as Chairman of the Republican Study Committee – the largest conservative Caucus in Congress – a position formerly held by Vice-President Pence and Rep. Jim Jordan. Walker served on House Administration, Education & Labor Committees and on Homeland Security serving as the ranking member on the Intelligence and Counterterrorism Subcommittee. In 2019, Congressman Walker was elected Vice Chair of the full Republican House Conference. In addition, Congressman Walker served with Senator Lankford as Co-Chair of the bi-cameral Prayer Caucus. In December 2020, Walker announced that he was running for US Senate in North Carolina. Mark and his wife, Kelly, a Family Nurse Practitioner, have three children and are celebrating twenty-eight years of marriage. 

Carlan Wendler

Carlan Wendler

Carlan was born and raised in Burbank, CA to a couple of midwest transplants who had heard John MacArthur on the radio. He grew up attending Grace Church and got saved at Junior High summer camp when he was challenged at the communion service to examine his heart for any unconfessed sin. He heard the gospel as if for the first time. From high school, Carlan attended UC San Diego where he majored in Molecular Biology and History, including a study abroad session at the Israel-Bible Extension (IBEX) of The Master’s College. Then he went on to medical school at the University of MI before returning to Los Angeles to work at the LA County + USC Medical Center as a resident in the emergency room. He is currently sent by Grace Church through Serge to serve in Burundi (east-central Africa) as part of a team of physicians and families training African nationals to take the gospel and health care into the remotest jungles of the continent. Carlan and his wife, Michelle have one child.

Dr. Mark Tatlock is president of The Master’s Academy International, professor of missions at The Master’s Seminary and University, and previously served as the executive vice president and provost of The Master’s University. As a faculty member and graduate of The Master’s Seminary, he is committed to TMAI’s theological distinctives and the priority of pastoral training, sound theology, and expository preaching. Mark and his wife, Lisa, have five children: Jacob, Josiah, Hope, Paul, and Olivia. Care for orphans and foster children is an area of personal concern for them both, believing that God would have His people model the amazing picture of the Gospel and of His love that is found in adoption.
